Mindset of Growth

As a professional dancer, I enjoy an 11 week (unpaid) layoff over the summer. I am grateful for this time to travel, connect with family, and explore other interests. But this long vacation comes with it's own set of challenges. And by a set of challenges, I mean one: staying in shape. This means being motivated when there is no performance coming up, when it's possible, and tempting, to sit in coffee shops all day and eat croissants...

But here's the thing. My happiness does not result from eating all of the croissants. And my progress does not result from eating none of the croissants. Resting effectively requires balance. Balance of the body and the mind. There is a mindset for training, and a mindset for resting, and it is important for me to not let one take over completely. But rather, tune in to both mindsets daily. Work daily and rest daily. Develop a consistent and positive mindset of growth
