Iceland Photo Journal July 4, 2015 We're back! A picture is worth a thousand words. So here's a 43,000 word account of our trip! More coming soon at The Cove Project. Reykjavik, Iceland's colorful capital. Home to the kindest people and the happiest sheep, horses, and swans. View of the city from the top of Hallgrímskirkja, Iceland's largest church. A glacial lagoon. Blue and black with volcanic ash. A small vein of Vatnajökull, the largest glacier in Europe. One of many picnic spots along the way. Svartifoss, the black waterfall. The drive along the Southeastern coast was absolutley breathtaking. So many babbling brooks! All flowing with pure mountain water, safe and delicious to drink. Picnicking in the peaceful town of Djupivogur. Hadrian getting way too close to Dettifoss, the most powerful waterfall in Europe. Godafoss, waterfall of the gods. Flowers in Akureyri. Deep blues and greens along the Western peninsula. Swiss mocha with a view. Picture taken at 12:30 am.
